Abstract

In this paper we have solved the Schrödinger equation with Morse potential and obtained radial wave functions and energy eigenvalues. We have also obtained normalization constants, expectation values and uncertainty for both position and momentum and an estimate of the speed of the system, considered for four diatomic molecules: H2, LiH, HCl and CO. Our computed energy eigenvalues are in perfect agreement with those in the literature and the results clearly demonstrates the  usefulness of generalized Pekeris approximation in solving the Schrödinger equation for a given potential model.
