Abstract

In this work, calculations of the bulk properties of nuclear matter (NM) are performed using the values of the saturation density ρ_o and the saturation energy per nucleon ∈_o for spin and isospin symmetric cold infinite nuclear matter obtained from the coefficients of the Bethe-Weizsa ̈cker mass formula which is evaluated by fitting 2228 extrapolated values of atomic mass excess and those of experimentally 2228 only by minimizing the root mean square deviation σ^2 and chi-square χ^2/N . The semi empirical liquid drop model mass formula has been used together with M3Y (Michigan 3 Yukawa)-type interaction to obtain the theoretical prediction of these NM properties which include the Coulomb radius constant r_o, nuclear incompressibility K_o, energy density ε, pressure P, and nuclear mean free path λ. The results of the calculations are in good agreement with other theoretical and experimental estimates.
