Abstract

The increasing demand for digital products with programmability are growing day by day. Digital filters are broadly used in digital signal processing and communication systems in application such as channel noise reduction which is the major setback in the system. In the field of digital signal processing the function of a filter is to remove unwanted part of a signal that is undesirable. In this paper, we present the design of such filter using a novel approach of Fourier series with windowing. The filter performance based on the design specification is tested using filter design and analysis tool (FDAT) of the Matlab. The FDAT is used to define the filter order, response and coefficients. The implementation of the designed filter using Digital Signal Processing (DSP) block set of the Simulink has shown that the design specification of the FIR Filters were achieved and its performance is at the optimum level.
