Abstract 

This work analysed the meteorological parameters (temperature, solar radiation and relative humidity) of satellite and Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET) data at Kano, Kaduna, Owerri and Sokoto for year 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2010, respectively. Statistical tools of mean bias error (MBE), root mean square error (RMSE) and correlation coefficient (r) were determined to validate the data. The results revealed that NIMET and Satellite data have similar signatures. The low RMSE and MBE values; and strong correlation between the NIMET and satellite data (ranged: 0.70 – 0.96) confirmed that satellite-based data could be used in Nigeria where equipment is not available to take measurement.

Abstract

Split ring resonator has the capability of exhibiting magnetic resonance. In this work, we have studied the dependence of the resonance frequency on the gap size of the ring resonator. We have performed numerical simulations of the gap distance dependence on the resonance frequency and have compared our results with the analytically calculated results. From our results, we have shown and upward shift in the resonance frequency with increasing gap distance, which is consistent with theory.
