Abstract

The paper gives some basic definitions and results on von Neumann algebras. Similarly, the notion of conditional expectation with its extensions in von Neumann algebras context  which is the non commutative extension of the classical conditional expectation in probability theory are discussed with the aim of arousing interest of young mathematicians into the area.
