Abstract

This study investigates the trends of cloud computing adoption in higher educational institutions of North-western part of Nigeria. A sample size of 252 IT related staff was selected from different higher educational institutions of the study area using stratified random sampling technique with the aid of well-structured questionnaire. Copies of the questionnaire were administered to twenty one (21) different higher educational Institutions of north-western part of Nigeria; 223 were returned which is 88.49% of the research population.  

The results have shown high level of cloud computing awareness but the level of adoption in teaching and learning processes is very low. Achievable benefits of cloud solution adoption in education process were discussed and important recommendations were provided for the institutions willing to adopt the cloud solution in education process.
