Abstract  

Cuprous oxide (Cu2O) was prepared by thermal oxidation of copper foils (0.1mm thickness)  cut in to required sizes (2cm2), the oxidation was carried out in a furnace at red heat (9700C) for 10minutes.The black CuO formed at the surface was removed by chemical etching and the resistivity of the cuprous oxide was measured using the square non-collinear four point probe method.
