The investigation concerns the quasi-linear evolution of group velocity in the
context of nonlinear events. This study suggests that the evolution is governed by the quasi-linear kinematic equation and hence, can be analyzed by the method of characteristics. The phenomenons of gradient catastrophy and singular solution associated with nonlinear waves are derived in this study.
For the application of this study,an initial condition is introduced.This is in a
form of space dependent oscillatory function. The associated singular solution is analyzed.
